Our wood-burning stove sauna and our Harvia stove are a type of traditional sauna that uses wood as their fuel source. Here’s how it works:
The wood-burning stove is the main heat source for the sauna. It is located in a separate room adjacent to the sauna or in the sauna itself. The stove is made of cast iron or steel and has a firebox where wood is burned. (the firebox is located outside of the sauna)
The stove is connected to a chimney, which draws smoke and gases out of the sauna and releases them outside. The chimney also helps to regulate the temperature of the sauna by allowing excess heat and steam to escape.
Heat-resistant rocks, such as granite or basalt, are placed on top of the stove. These rocks absorb heat from the fire and radiate it into the sauna. The rocks also act as heat buffers, helping to maintain a consistent temperature.
Hot water is poured over the hot rocks to create steam. This increases the humidity in the sauna and helps to open up pores and promotes sweating. Water can be added periodically throughout the sauna session to maintain the desired level of humidity.
A small window vent allows fresh air to enter the sauna and circulate throughout the space. This helps to prevent the air from becoming too hot or stuffy and makes the sauna experience more comfortable.
Our wood furnace hot tub uses electricity as the primary source for both heating and powering the jets. We connect a device to the power outlet in your laundry room for the heating process, and we also use wood to speed up this process. For setup, we need a space that is 9 feet wide and 20 feet long to park our trailer with the hot tub. Filling the hot tub takes approximately 1 hour, and the heating process usually takes around 1.5 hours. We will assist you throughout the setup process to ensure the hot tub is ready for your enjoyment. If you prefer a phone call for a more detailed explanation, please let us know.
The wood-burning stove is the main heat source for the hot tub. It is located outside of the hot tub and connected to a chimney or exhaust pipe. The stove is made of cast iron or steel and has a firebox where wood is burned.
Our wood-burning hot tubs include jets, which can be adjusted to provide a relaxing massage effect. The jets are typically powered by a small electric motor, which is separate from the wood stove.
The hot tub is filled with water, typically from a garden hose or other water source. The water is heated by the wood stove, which circulates hot water through the tub via a series of pipes or channels.
The temperature of the hot tub is controlled by adding or removing wood from the stove. As more wood is added, the temperature of the water will increase. Conversely, removing wood will allow the water to cool down.
Saunas and hot tubs are both popular forms of relaxation and rejuvenation, and they offer a range of benefits for the mind and body. Here are some of the benefits of sauna and hot tub use:
Saunas and hot tubs can help to reduce stress levels by promoting relaxation and reducing tension in the muscles. The heat from both saunas and hot tubs can also increase the production of endorphins, which are the body's natural "feel-good" chemicals.
The heat from saunas and hot tubs causes blood vessels to dilate, which can increase blood flow throughout the body. This increased circulation can help to deliver more oxygen and nutrients to the muscles and other tissues, promoting healing and reducing inflammation.
Saunas and hot tubs can help to flush out toxins from the body through sweating. Sweating also helps to clear out dead skin cells and unclog pores, leaving skin looking healthier and more radiant.
The heat from saunas and hot tubs can help to soothe sore muscles and joints, reducing pain and inflammation. This makes them a great choice for athletes and people with chronic pain conditions like arthritis.
Using a sauna or hot tub before bed can help to promote relaxation and improve sleep quality. The heat can also help to reduce muscle tension and promote the release of endorphins, which can lead to a more restful night's sleep.
Overall, saunas and hot tubs offer a range of benefits for both the mind and body. From stress relief and improved circulation to pain relief and better sleep, they are a great way to relax and rejuvenate.
